Since 2012, Northern Starz Center for the Performing Arts has been instilling a passion for the arts in its community and providing quality arts education in the North Metro area. Founded as a small educational theater called Broadway On Site, the non-profit has now expanded, after being renamed Northern Starz, to a multi-faceted educational community performing arts space offering instruction in theatre, dance, and music. Offering ten productions a season and reaching more than 10,000 audience members a year, Northern Starz strives to nurture and develop theatrical skills, celebrate the growth of its students and community, and inspire a love and appreciation for the performing arts. At Northern Starz, creating a positive educational experience for all of its students is of the utmost importance. With student ages ranging from 4-83, Northern Starz is committed to providing a safe and accepting environment in which all students can feel empowered, comfortable, and free to express themselves through the arts no matter their age or ability.
SCHEDULE: Weekday afternoons and evenings
STATUS: Exempt; part-time
SALARY RANGE: $35-$50/Hour, based on qualifications, and experience
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for maintaining high standards of teaching expertise. The instructor teaches individual piano lessons for students of varying levels (beginning to advance) with an emphasis on a candidate who is energetic and able to engage with the very young beginner.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A degree or certification in music or music education, or the equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of three years of piano studio teaching all ages and skill levels. Experience teaching diverse styles of music preferred.
