This experience has helped our daughter so much. Her first show she was so stressed at rehearsals she would pull her eyelashes out and struggled . I know she has good and off days still, but we see so much growth and positive change in her through this experience. I thank you for giving her this Avenue to express herself and build her confidence ,courage, and creativity.
This class is designed for students looking to sharpen their monologue repertoire and theatre audition skills. It is perfect for those who are auditioning for community, school, as well as other performing arts programs. Students will learn how to select audition material, discuss audition techniques, and participate in mock auditions; all while having fun in a small group setting. The goal is for students to leave the class with prepared material and the confidence to do well in their auditions!
Stage Make-Up Exploration
Action packed workshops are open to students, K-12, of all levels. Stage Make-Up Exploration will help you develop the skills to exaggerate, diminish, and create facial features to help an actor portray a character. Students will also have the opportunity to delve into special-effects makeup including bruises, wounds, elderly and fantasy creatures.
In this fast-paced, creative environment, students learn the fundamentals of improv. They will practice creating stories without scripts or rehearsal using a wide variety of improv techniques, formats, and games. Warning: this art form is highly addictive.
This is a fun time for all! Not only will students be actors in the show; they will also build and paint the sets, create their own costumes, create and pull props, learn tech and for a few lucky students; assistant direct a couple of scenes! This is an all-inclusive opportunity to be creative! The show will be performed for family and friends the last day of class.
Once a year, a magical and touching celebration of the human spirit unfolds at numerous theaters across the country. A group of children in a program called The Penguin Project take to the stage to perform a modified version of a well-known Broadway musical. "You learn theater by doing theater," is a guiding principle for us - so we involve students in nearly all aspects of theatrical productions. Everything from acting, stage managers, theatre technicians, lighting design, directing and more.
