Elf Jr. The Musical

For performers K-12th Grade.

Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and that his half-brother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.

S.I.T Program: Just Kidding, Just Fine & Other Lies

For performers 6-12th Grade.

Our S.I.T. program will engage in educating our youth about social issues through theatre.  This is an on-going troupe, in which social issue professionals will engage with the students and teach them about the generational issues facing today's youth.  This play was written by teens, for teens.  It focuses on real/personal, often painful, teen experiences through stories and poetry. These experiences were communicated  with intense language, vivid imagery and heart breaking emotion.

The Rockin' Tale of Snowwhite

For performers K-5th Grade.

The tale of Snow White has never felt so fresh with this funny adaptation that will make even the most jaded among us laugh out loud!  New characters and comedic twists come to life as a modern mom reads the Brothers Grimm tale to her restless children.  I  With its tongue-in-cheek humor, catchy songs and an unbelievably flexible cast that can absorb a “cast of thousands,” this show is a must-have for anyone wanting to give scores of children the joys of being in a musical.

Share this timeless and enduring classic about the March sisters’ journey from childhood to maturity during the American Civil War.  Audiences of all generations will enjoy acquainting — or reacquainting — themselves with the sisters:  Meg, the eldest; Jo, the high-spirited tomboy; Amy, the self-centered beauty; and gentle Beth, as well as their beloved Marmee and Father.

Everyone’s favorite knothead gets an extreme makeover in this hip and hilarious musical adaptation of the classic tale of a talking puppet who gets into all kinds of trouble before learning what it truly means to be human.  Especially adapted for teens, this adaptation puts a fresh and contemporary spin on the scenes and characters from the original classic with lots of slapstick humor, clever wordplay, and a wide range of musical styles including hip-hop, gypsy swing, bluegrass, and good ol’ rock ’n’ roll!

Hillbilly Hayride

The Tollivers and the Calhouns are always fussin’ ’an’ a-feudin’, which makes things difficult for Emmy Lou, a Tolliver, and Lee Roy, a Calhoun.  The story of the 200-year old battle even appears in a scandal sheet ’Strange But True.’ A couple of near-bankrupt New York publishing houses send agents to sign up the conflicting families.  It ain’t easy having to go to the town of Lonesome Polecat.

Once a year, a magical and touching celebration of the human spirit unfolds at numerous theaters across the country. A group of children in a program called The Penguin Project take to the stage to perform a modified version of a well-known Broadway musical.  This year it will be Alladin Jr.

An Unspeakable Triumph of Supreme Brilliance

The Moss River Community Players are pretty okay settling for theatrical mediocrity, until one day they receive a stunning offer: an insanely wealthy woman is offering a ten million dollar prize for the best community theatre show in North Central Minnesota. The catch? They only have two days to put it together! All heck breaks loose as the cast tries their best to present An Unspeakable Triumph of Supreme Brilliance, but with one actor deathly afraid of the stage, another trying to dominate the show, and a set about to collapse, will the riches slip out of their hands before curtain call?
