Camp Under the Starz offers an immersive experience for campers to refine their theatre, musical theatre, and dance skills in a vibrant and exhilarating summer camp program. In addition to theatre camp, we are thrilled to introduce an art camp, inviting those passionate about visual arts to explore their creativity in a new and inspiring setting! 

Camp Under the Starz is all-inclusive!  Students, ages 10-18 of ALL abilities, along with adults (19+) with special needs!  All performing arts students will have theatre, voice, and dance classes. They will also have courses in characterization, stage presence, makeup, art and so much more. Art Students will have classes in painting, drawing, scenery work, plein air, brushwork, and more!

Camper Ages:

All Students ages 10-18

Adults with Special Needs: Ages 19+

Theatre track placement will be determined by auditions. Audition day/time TBA.

Location:

Camp Under the Starz will be held at Camp Shetek in Slayton, MN.

Transportation:

Families will be responsible for getting their camper to and from camp. A Carpool list will be available upon request. 

2025 Dates:

August 10-16

Staff arrive August 9

Campers arrive August 10

Performances and Art Gallery: August 16 (TBD, but approximately 3pm)

Pricing:

SPOOKTACULAR Savings Event!  

ONLY $800 if paid in full in the month of October 2024

$999 if paid in full by December 31, 2024

$1100 if paid in full by April 15, 2025

$1200 if paid in full by June 15, 2025

** $200 due at time of registration 

If full payment is not received prior to JUNE 15, no refunds and camper CANNOT attend camp

Payment and fundraising options are available. Please contact rachel@northernstarz.org for more information on fundraising!

Waiver payment amount due upon deadlines above. If paying with a wavier, Northern Starz needs to have the waiver funds by June 15, 2025 or a letter from the county stating that it will be paid in full (letter dated no later than June 15, 2025) 

Cost includes: 

All Food, snacks, housing, staff cost, volunteers, directorial staff, teaching artists,

production cost, art projects, camp t-shirts, and goody bag.

If your camper needs a PCA (Personal Care Attendant) at camp (as determined by staff), the additional cost for food/housing for the week is $350.00. Staff will reach out to you upon registration to determine if a PCA is needed. 

We work with individuals on waivers utilizing the CDCS Plan and also those that are in need of a financial scholarship to attend camp.

Refund Policy

If you canceled:

October 1, 2024 - December 31 2024 - 100% refund less your transaction fee

January 1, 2025 - April 30, 2025 - 50% refund less your transaction fee

May 1, 2025 - June 14, 2025 - 25% refund less your transaction fee

After June 15, 2025 NO Refund

If full payment is not received prior to JUNE 15, no refunds and camper CANNOT attend camp
