Student Directed Play Festival Information


Show Information

Join us for a 6 week course of theatre fun with your peers!!! Direct, Act, Tech Crew- it’s all here for you! As student directors (10-12 grade) you will begin working with professional mentors & Actors (6-12 grade) will audition on July 27th to be cast in a student's show.

The festival is judged by theatre professionals in the community and prizes are awarded for the best performances.

Registration Deadline for Actors/Tech: July 15th

Auditions: July 27th

Rehearsals begin August 6th and depending on the show you are cast in, will either be Mon/Wed (5:45-7:15 OR 7:15-8:45) or Tues/Thurs (5:45-7:15 OR 7:15-8:45)

**If there are more than 4 directors, we will have to review the schedule and times.***

Festival Date:  Dinner/Dance Sept 14th

Festival Competition: Sept 15th

Audition Preparation

For Auditions You Should Come with the Following:

  • Memorize a 1-minute dramatic monologue
  • Memorize a 1-minutes comedic monologue.
  • Once you have registered an additional link to finish your registration will be sent to you so you can upload your headshot and conflict dates. 

Age Requirements

Directors: 10th - 12th Graders Only.

Actors and Tech: 6th-12th Graders Only.


Directors and Actors: $150 participation fee due at registration.

Tech: $75 participation fee due at registration.

Scholarship Information

Northern Starz Children’s Theater is dedicated to providing theater education for all interested students and is awarding a limited number of scholarships students that will cover the cost of registration for certain shows.
