Northern Starz is starting a DigiDrama program!
This Digital Drama program will include K-12 students and adults wanting to take drama courses online! During this time of unknown circumstances, students will find fun in taking classes in auditioning, acting, improv, Shakspeare and much more! We can get together online to learn vocals and put together small plays! Social Distancing won't be a problem, as you and your friends can do this together through your computers!
In lieu of a regular class payment, consider making a donation for these classes. Postponing our annual fundraiser, Pied Piper and Back to the 80's has a huge impact on the budget of a small arts organization like Northern Starz Theatre. You can make an online donation here.
Now meeting Wednesdays from 2pm-3pm on Zoom:

Interested in learning more about the craft of acting?
Join us for the basics of stage acting, and work on skills in acting, script analysis, visualization, breathing and relaxation, as well as a working vocabulary of theatre terms. Learn skills that can apply in so many areas of life - not just on the stage!
This course will also expand on the basic acting techniques, as students are asked to develop the inner resources needed for characterization and emotional depth.
Students will then be encouraged to develop skills in concentration, sense memory, emotional recall and imagination through exercises. The course will also focus attention on the practical conventions of acting such as working with scripts, memorization, scoring, auditioning, and rehearsal etiquette. Lastly, bringing a character to life is an adventure! What works for one character (or actor) may not work for another. This class will consist of games, exercises and discussion on different methods you can use to build a distinct character onstage.
Learn how to build a character on little or no information so that you're a person on stage, not just an actor hitting their mark!
Taught by Kathy Boecher.
